A Renowned Broadcasting Icon Engineer Alexander Okeke Okonkwo was laid to rest in his country home at Okpuno Nnewichi, Nnewi  admist mixed feelings  by his family members, friends and associates.
ABS Correspondent, Chimezie Umeh, covered the burial programme, and his reports that it was a celebration of life well lived, as the remains of one of the pioneer engineers of Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation was buried in Nnewi at the age of Ninety – five years.                 Engineer Alexander Okonkwo  worked with Radio Biafra during the war and later the defunct East Central State Broadcasting Service, Enugu.
In the Holy Mass to bid farewell to Chief Okonkwo,  the Parish Priest Divine Mercy Parish, Ichi Reverend Father Ernest Ebulue described him as a man of great honour and integrity.
Speaking to ABS during the funeral, Mr Alloysius Okonkwo who  is the first son of Engineer Okonkwo called his father a disciplinarian, principled man and a man full of grace.
Engineer Pauline Uzoma  who is the last daughter of Engineer Okonkwo described her father as a loving and time conscious being, peaceful and dedicated  man.
Very Reverend  Father Innocent Ezike, the Parish Priest St Jude’s Parish Nnewichi and  Very Reverend  Fatherr John Oraegbu, many relatives and well wishers  graced the burial ceremony.
Engineer Alexander Okonkwo was survived by his wife and five children, including Mr Anthony Okonkwo, based in Canada.
