Nine people allegedly involved in the attack on Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s event and kidnap of Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, have been arrested.
Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano announced this during the public presentation of a new book titled “Governor Willie Obiano, Seven Years Delivering Good Governance In Anambra State, 2014-2021”.
Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana recalled that recently, a violent attack erupted during a scheduled event by Professor Soludo at Isuofia where Commissioner Ezenwanne was abducted, though he has since regained his freedom.
According to Governor Obiano, the security apparatus has be rejiged for increased efficiency and productivity, especially with the patrol of joint security team of all security agencies in the state.
He announced that information about the hideouts of the hoodlums have been received by the security operatives who are already on their trail, as some of them are on the run.
Governor Obiano who vowed that every hoodlum perpetrating violent attacks in the state, will be rounded up, emphasized that new strategies are already in place to better secure ndi Anambra.
Speaking about the airport, Governor Obiano restated the high standard of the project noting that it is the biggest in Africa with five point seven kilometer runway, eleven storey concrete tower, two taxi ways, among others.
While stating that the speed of the project and adherence to international standards were possible because seven highly professional contractors were engaged and expressed optimism that the airport will begin operation on the thirtieth of April as earlier scheduled, because according to him, Airpeace already promised that its aircrafts will land there on the appointed date.
The Governor who dedicated the book to members of his staff, commended the special fatherly roles of the Royal fathers who have been behind him all these years, reassuring of his determination to finish strong.
The two hundred and fourty four pages book published by Anambra Broadcasting Service was edited by Dr. Uche Nworah and Dr. Emeka Arinze and has fifty four chapters.
