Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has described life as lottery, which God dispenses as he likes.
Speaking in his condolence message to the Ngini family of Umuatulu Ifiteani village, Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area over the death of Mr Samuel Onyemaechi, former Comptroller of Immigration Service, Abia State, Governor Obiano, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke said only worthy life on earth will earn man eternal life, describing the deceased as a man of examplary footprints worthy of emulation.
Governor Obiano called on the people to change their ways of life regardless of their statues in life.
On his part, the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, represented by Secretary to the Abia State Government, Barrister Chris Ezem, said the deceased was a disciplined officer, passionate about his job, with positive contributions to the development of Nigeria Immigration Service, adding that his Government and people of the State would miss him.
Earlier in his sermon during a burial Mass for the deceased, Reverend Father Bona Ugwu of Saint Michael’s Catholic Parish, Akabo, Owerri Diocese, said life and death are mysteries for man, noting that man’s sufferings on earth bring to mind God’s original blessings on his creature, urging the family, friends and colleagues to take solace and imbibe good legacies of the Late Samuel Ngini.
Correspondent Joseph Egbeocha reports that the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Alhaji Baba Dende, represented by the new Comptroller of Immigration Service, Abia State, Mr Offiong Samuel Offiong, Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kaduna State, Mr Elias Esedo, the Traditional ruler of Mgbara-Akuma, Ubakala Autonomous community in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, Eze Ebere Ubani, among other dignitaries, attended the ceremony.
