The Director General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Dr. Garba Abari has called on government at all levels to include youths in decision making table and implement their inclusive policies following the EndSARS protest.

Dr. Abari made the call during a one day National Youth Forum on Attitudinal Re-orientation organized by the Agency  at Amawbia Awka South Council Area  with the theme, “Youth Participation in National Development.

Correspondent, Chidinma Ikeanyionwu reports that the October protest that disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Nigerian Police raised a number of issues like unemployment, marginalization in the governance process, and poverty yearning for immediate policies to address them.

It is in the light of the above that Dr. Abari represented by Anambra State Director of the agency, Barrister Charles Nworji suggested engagement of Nigerian Youths to play active part in the development and implementation of government policies, programmes and activities especially in the face of COVID-19, building their confidence in the ability and commitment of government to addressing their challenges and mobilizing them to seek resolution of their grievances through dialogue.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government Affairs, Chief Alex Onukwue, who noted that Anambra State Government runs a youth inclusive governance, called on youths to shun all vices and focus on making the nation great.

For the NYSC State coordinator, Mr. Kehinde Aremu, and the state Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr. Mohammed Idris represented by the Secretary, Anambra State Drug Control Committee, Mr. Chris Adabor until youths are carefully and deliberately involved in governance, they will never feel involved in national development.

Present during the seminar were the state deputy chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria Anambra State chapter, Comrade Obidinma Echezona, members of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps and local government youths representatives among others.
