Government at all levels has been called upon to intensify efforts in sensitizing the masses on various empowerment support opportunities.
Justice Development and Peace Commission, JDPC, Onitsha made the call at a one- day interactive session with Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government on empowerment support opportunities and the need for people to access and utilize them.
Addressing the gathering on the essence of the training, the JDPC Project Officer on Evidence and Collaboration for Inclusive Development, Mr. Shadrach Nwekeagu stressed the need for people to always access empowerment support funds aimed at alleviating poverty and improving their standard of living.
On her part, the Project Coordinator of the partnering agency, Hope Giver Initiative, Mrs. Onyeka-Okey Udegbunam called on Government to always sensitize the people on availability of the empowerment support opportunities, as the target people in the rural communities do not have the knowledge most times.
In their separate lectures, the Anambra State Director of Cooperatives under the State Ministry of Trade and Commerce, Mrs. Nwabugo Okonkwo and the Anambra State Manager, Small and Medium Scale Enterprise of Nigeria, Engineer Chito Onuzuluike, while commending the conveners of the event, urged the participants, who also received voter education, to use the opportunities provided by Government to better their lives.
