Members of Catholic Men’s Organization of Saint James’ Catholic Church, Neni in Anaocha Local Government Area, have honoured the fallen founder of Tonimas Nigeria Limited and traditional Prime Minister of Neni, Dr Anthony Enukeme, for his contributions to the growth of the church.

The post-humos award on the late Dr Enukeme was part of activities lined up by the parishioners to mark this year’s Fathers’ Sunday of the Catholic Church

Correspondent, Daniel Ezeigwe reports that  while  presenting  the award to the second son of late Dr Anthony Enukeme, the Chairman of Catholic Men’s Organization of the parish, Sir Toochukwu Muomah described the late Dr Enukeme as a man full of humility who used his God-given wealth to touch lives.

He said that the award on the late Dr Enukeme can never be equated with his contributions to the growth of the church, disclosing that the late philantropist who was the Vice-Chairman of Awka Catholic Diocesan Pastoral Council, single-handedly built and furnished Saint James’ Catholic Church, Neni.

Sir Toochukwu also used the opportunity to thank the wife of the late Patron of Catholic Men’s Organization Lady Mary Enukeme and the children for their continuous support to the parish .

Receiving the award on behalf of the family, the second son of the late Dr Enukeme, Mr Chike Enukeme thanked the church for the honour and promised that they would continue to identify with the church.

Earlier in a homily, the Parish Priest of Saint James Catholic Church, Neni, Reverend Father Adolphus Obi who maintained that career opportunity is very important in the life of all humans, charged Fathers to always use their career in working out their salvation.

Reverend Father Obi also charged Fathers to always teach their children good footsteps as Saint Joseph the Worker taught his son, Jesus Christ.

The Catholic priest who maintained that a tree and its branches are one, advised fathers to always protect their family in addition to showing their wife and children true love.

Some members of the congregation who attended the mass, including Lady Adaobi Muomah and Mrs Ngozi Izuegbunam urged women to always support their children, describing child upbringing as a collective responsibility.

The Manager, News of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Mr Abuchi Nwozor, who attended the holy mass along with the Enukeme family, thanked the parish for the post-humos award on the late Dr Enukeme, describing it as an honour well deserved.
