It was a moment of grief for family and friends of late Chief Uche Ezechukwu as the veteran journalist  was laid to rest at  his home town Amesi, Aguata Council Area. Late Ezechukwu was a print Journalist in the 80’s and 90’s, as well as published author with four books to his credit.
At a Requim Mass held at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, Amesi  presided  over by the Bishop of Ekwulobia  Diocese, Most Reverend Peter Okpalaeke, who thanked extolled the life of late Chief Uche, prayed  God to grant him eternal rest while urging people to use their life and profession to bear witness to God and  uplift humanity.

The Anambra State Commissioner For Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C Don Adinuba, who paid  a condolence visit to the family  disclosed his friendship with the deceased   for four decades including working  for  the same organisation and  livig  together, describing him as intelligent, courageous and hard working man while urging   the family to  take solace in the good life he lived.
In their various remarks an in-law of  the family , Mr. Uche Okparebo and  a family member, Mr. Modestus Ume-Nzekwe, pointed out that the deceased was a good man, who was sociable, kind and hard worker and reached the pinnacle of his career and prayed God to grant him eternal rest.
 Shortly after the interment of the deceased, his eldest daughter, Dr. Chinwe Ezechukwu  said that she will miss the  regular interactions she used to have  with her  late father  and encouraged people to live out their purpose in life.
Also another of  his daughters, Mrs. Georgette Okparebo, said  that her father was an intelligent   man, who had high expectations towards his children to be the best in all they do as well as being a generous and kind man .
The burial ceremony featured condolence visits  by family, friends and well wishers.
