Ebenezer Group of Companies has commissioned its animal feed production factory under its subsidiary, Benza Agro-Allied Company Limited at Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area.
The factory will kick off with the production of poultry and fish feeds.
Correspondent, David Okpokwasili reports that also commissioned by proxy at the event is the one-thousand plots of land for its Benza Farmers Estate at Ezira, Orumba South Local Government Area for the cultivation of maize and other raw materials for animal feed production.
It also provides land ownership at the estate for members of its Hafacop Savings and Loans Cooperative Society Limited and also provide funds for farmers through its Hafacop Micro Finance Bank Limited.
Commissioning the factory proper, the state Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief Nnamdi Onukwuba restated the commitment of the state government to supporting investors in the agricultural sector and to make policies that will create favorable business environment for investments to thrive.
Chief Onukwuba while commending the company for heeding to the “Akụ Luo Ụnọ” call of the present administration, called on youths to look the way of agriculture, which according to him, is a guaranteed way for job creation.
Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of Ebenezer Group of Companies, Reverend Dr. David Onochie said he is motivated to invest in agric value chain because there is need to solve the food insufficiency currently facing the country and believing that Anambra has the capacity to feed itself and Nigeria at large.
The President of Coscharis Group of Companies, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, the Managing Director, Terratiga Limited in Nigeria, a dutch partner of Benza Agro-Allied Company Limited, Dr. Hans Crombach and the Traditional Ruler of Ezira, Igwe Samuel Uche, in their separate remarks, described agriculture as the future of wealth creation in Nigeria.
Also present at the event was the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Mrs. Stephanie Kelly-Uzor, the state chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Sir Leonard Ukatu, and the General Overseer of Pinnacle Redeem Mission, Nnewi, Bishop Dr. Louis Morah, who prayed for the initial investors in the business.
