Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency has commenced training of thirty four members of its staff in preparation for Nigeria COVID 19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme.

 

The Nigeria COVID 19Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme is a Federal Government programme designed to give funds to poor and vulnerable families in Nigeria to cushion the effects of COVID 19 pandemic lock down.

The programme which will kick-off in July 2021, is also aimed at providing access to food security and grants to the poor and vulnerable households.

 

Addressing the participants, the General Manager, Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, Mr. Chudi Mojekwu said that the agency will be implementing the three key components of the programme namely,

Labour intensive public workfare, Livelihood support project and the normal basic services, like the social infrastructure.

 

Mr. Mojekwu explained that so much needs to be achieved during the programme to cushion the effects of Coronavirus lockdown on the poor and vulnerable Ndi Anambra, and thanked Governor Willie Obiano for giving support to the programme.

 

The Operations Manager, Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, Mrs. Uche Nwanizu described the programme as wonderful, as it will touch the lives of poor and vulnerable citizens of the State.

According to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager of Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, Mr. Chuddy Nworah, they are focused on getting results as the programme will be assessed by external investigators every six months during its duration.
