Anambra State Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha has directed schools in riverine and flood prone communities in the State to commence full academic activities immediately, in line with the 2020/2021 special academic calendar released for the area, which commenced on Monday second August, 2021.

The Ministry had earlier released the special academic calendar, stating that full academic activities for the first half of the first term in the affected areas would commence on second of August and end on tenth of September, while vacation holds from thirteenth September and ends on twenty-ninth, October 2021

According to the release, the second half of the first term would begin on second November and end on seventeenth December, 2021.

The release signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barrister Nwando Obiano, stated that schools in the riverine and flood prone areas would join other schools in the State for the Christmas vacation from eighteenth of December to first January 2022.
