Intending building developers in Anambra State have been enjoined to submit their building plans to Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Awka for approval before commencing work.
The Acting General Manager of the Board, Mr. Anene Nwabufo, who announced this in an interview in Awka, listed some essential processes before commencement of a building project to include, submission of five copies of survey plan signed by a professional, calculation and payment for the planning rate, scanning of the survey plan into the system, submission of the disc used to draw the plan before various departments in the system before approval is given.
He said that field officers would be going round to ensure that developers were building according to the stipulated plan, noting that part of the Board’s duties is to ensure that people do not block access roads while building their houses, discourage building under electricity lines, among others.
He regretted that the actions of some land speculators, who sell property in prohibited areas, thereby make it difficult for people to adhere to government directives.
