The political drama that started at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on 16th July, leading to the publication of Chief Chukwuma Umeoji’s name in place of Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has come to an end.

In a press release by INEC signed by the Commissioner, Voter Education and Publicity, Barrister Festus Okoye, the Commission said that after its Executive Committee meeting, it was unanimously resolved that the names of Professor Soludo and Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim be published as the APGA governorship and deputy governorship candidates respectively, while the names of Chief Umeoji and Professor Lillian Orogbu’s names be removed from INEC’s portal as candidates of APGA.

It would be recalled that a Court of Appeal in Kano State on Wednesday, 10th August 2021, delivered judgment in favour of APGA National Chairman, Dr. Victor Oye and the Party’s governorship candidate, Professor Soludo.

With this development, political observers said APGA can now embark on mobilizing Ndi-Anambra for victory in the November six governorship election in the State.
