Family members, friends and relations recently gathered at Umuodikpana Village Akwukwu, Idemili South Local Government Area to pay their last respect to the late Mr. Benedict Onyenji.

The late Mr. Onyenji, popularly known as Ben Lion, who died at the age of fifty- six, was a younger brother to Comrade Don Onyenji, former Director of Programmes, Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS.

Correspondent, Njideka Okoye  reports  that while speaking during a funeral mass at his compound, the Parish Priest, Saint John’s Catholic Church Akwukwu, Reverend Father Cashmir Onyemaizu noted that the number of years one lived on earth does not matter but how he was able to impact in other people’s lives and described the late Mr. Onyenji, who has since been buried, as a man, whose life benefited others.

In their remarks, the elder brother to the deceased, Comrade Onyenji, the sister, Mrs. Ndidi Muokuba and the son, Chuka Onyenji thanked all, who came to commiserate with them and described the deceased as a peaceful, jovial, and good heart man, who showed brotherly love to all that came in contact with him.

For the ABS family, including the directors of Programmes, Mrs. Nneka Ekwunife, her Administration counterpart, Lady Tina Ekenta, a former Managing Director Lady Chinwe Nnedum and Mr. Udoka Ejiakor among others commiserated with Comrade Onyenji and the entire Onyenji family asking them to bear the loss with fortitude while the Anambra State Commissioner for Public Utilities and Water Resources, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne urged them to continue with the existing love and peace in their family.

Other colleagues of Comrade Onyenji, who came to commiserate with them, include the Managing Director, Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, a former Director of Education, Sir Ogo Ezeonu and Comrade Charles Onyeagba among others.
