Governor Willie Obiano’s developmental strides have received commendations from stakeholders within and beyond the state as another landmark project is commissioned at Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area.
The landmark project, Digital Leather Industrial Hub, complementing other legacy projects scattered across the state, placed Anambra State on the global map.

the commissioning, which was done by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo in company of Governor Obiano and other top government functionaries attracted stakeholders, who described Governor Obiano as a visionary leader while others tagged him, Mr. legacy.
Giving an overview of the project, the MD/CEO of Anambra State Small Business Agency, ASBA, Sir Clement Chukwuka noted that the facility, which is capable of producing thousands of shoes, boots, shoe soles and other leather products on weekly basis, will also contribute greatly to the growth and development of Anambra State through job creation and revenue generation.
Some of the stakeholders, including the National Vice President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ichie Damian Okeke-Ogene, the state President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prince Emeka Udodeme and the ASATU National President, Barrister Titus Akpudo, while commending Governor Obiano and the federal government on the project, tasked Anambra youths to grab and utilize the opportunity optimally.
Other stakeholders including the member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Honourable Okwudili Ezenwankwo and the MD/CEO of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, the Venerable Amaechi Okwosa, who noted that the facility is of international standard expressed believe that Anambra State in the near future will compete with the rest of the world in high quality shoe making.
They also harped on the need for Nigeria to encourage locally made leather shoes through patronage and curtailing the importation of such products.
A tour of the facility by Vice President Osibanjo and his entourage climaxed the event.
