The National Orientation Agency, NOA, has urged Ndi-Anambra to register, collect their PVCs and fully participate in the November six governorship election.
The Agency made the call at Voters Education and Stakeholders Forum for Successful Governorship Election held in Awka, urging citizens to stay away from electoral malpractices.

according to the Director General of NOA, Dr. Garba Abari, the major aim of the forum was to educate and inform Ndi-Anambra of the need to register and make sure their Permanent Voter’s Cards are ready for full participation in the upcoming election, as well as warn people to stay away from electoral malpractices, such as vote buying.
Represented by Mr. Edozie Ajaegbu of the Agency’s Department of Political, Civic, Ethics and Value, Dr. Abari pointed out that the issue of voters apathy can be solved with proper information by relevant agencies.
The State Director of the Agency, Barrister Charles Nwoji, said it is important for people to become part of democracy and participate in the electoral process by registering, voting and staying away from malpractices, noting that the sensitization will later be taken to Zonal and Local Government Areas to inform people of what are expected of them before, during and after the election.
In his remark, the Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Anambra State chapter, Chief Emeka Udodaeme, urged people to be vigilant and shun sentiments which stop them from registering, voting and fully participating in the electoral process, noting that citizens’ participation is critical at every stage of the election, even as he called on politicians and youths to respect electoral guidelines.
Some participants who spoke during the event, including Mr. Ikechukwu Okeke and Mrs. Theresa Okoye, explained that the event was important, not just to educate the electorate, but to let critical stakeholders know what is expected of them, assuring that they will take the information gathered to the grassroot.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Nigerian Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, Civil Society Organizations and host of other critical stakeholders were part of the event.
