The eleven power Distribution Companies, DisCos, have gotten approval from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, to slightly increase electricity tariff.
In a notice signed by the General Manager of one of the Distribution Companies, Mr. Olumide Anthony-Jerome, the increase in electricity tariff will take effect from September first 2021.
He said the increase is as a result of the nationwide mandate to implement the Service-Based Tariff approved the regulatory commission.
The notice further stated that the increase will be reflected on the energy bill for October, which will represent energy consumption for September 2021.
