The human spirit is one of ability, perseverance, and courage that no disability can take away.
This is evident as family, friends, and well-wishers gathered at the late Mr Vincent Nduka’s hometown in Ifite Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area to bid the deceased farewell.
Onyinye Agubaeze was there and reports that despite being deformed a few days after his birth as a result of fire burn that destroyed his fingers and left his stomach open, the late Nduka was described by many who knew him as a resilient man who worked hard to survive, transcending from being a farmer to becoming a teacher.
In his sermon during a burial service at the deceased residence, Reverend Ebere Ahaneku, urged Christians to seek salvation rather than earthly riches, as no earthly possession would be taken to the grave, even as he advised the children of the deceased to uphold their father’s legacy.
Speaking to the ABS, the deceased’s daughter-in-law who is also a staff of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mrs Obiageli Nduka, and the last son of the deceased, Reverend Vincent Nduka, described the late Nduka as a role model who touched the lives of many, and thanked those who came to commiserate with them, even as they prayed God to lead them back to their various destinations safely.
Also, the first Son of the deceased, Mr Ifeanyi Nduka and a daughter of the deceased, Mrs Victoria Nwajiagu, described their father as hardworking, selfless and kind man who did not allow his deformity to take the best of him.
Late Mr Vincent Nduka died at the age of hundred and five.
Interment, dance and condolence visits by friends and well-wishers were the highlights of the event.
