The flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, alongside other philanthropists in the state, have been honoured by the Anambra State Government for their various support to the education sector.
Professor Soludo and others, including the immediate past Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh received the award during “a Day with Anambra State Education Builders” programme organized in Awka by the state Ministry of Basic Education as a medium to recognize Ndi Anambra for their support to the education sector.

Professor Soludo who described education as the bedrock of any successful society, appreciated Governor Willie Obiano for recognizing their efforts in promoting quality education, and assured to consolidate on laudable achievements of the present administration in education and other sectors of the state economy if elected as the next governor of the state.
In various interviews, Senator Victor Umeh, the Member Representing Orumba South at the state House of Assembly, Honourable Emmanuel Okafor, and a philanthropist, Dr Ebuka Onunkwo, while emphasizing that investment in education is the best investment anybody can make in life, pointed out that they were motivated to invest more in the education sector by the positive results their efforts had yielded in the lives of youths and the society in general, and promised to do more.
For the Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka who described the recognition as a call for more contribution in the sector, urged affluent Ndi Anambra who have not been using their wealth to assist government in promoting quality education to key in, for a better Anambra.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie observed that the Obiano led administration has in no small measure improved the education sector of the State, especially as it concerns students with disabilities, and called on the awardees to see the honour as a call for more service to humanity.
The event attracted education lovers, critical stakeholders in the state, as well as teachers and students from various schools in Anambra state.
