The saying, “He that finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favour from God”, was reechoed when former Miss Goodness Ebelechukwu Okwuogu of Etiti Osili village Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area, walked down the aisle to tie the nuptial knot with her hearthrob, Mr Innocent Uchechukwu Orabueze of Enugwu Aja Village Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

 

Miss Okwuogu, who is the daughter of Mrs Nonyelum Nwachukwu of Administration Department, Anambra Broadcasting Service, is now addressed as Mrs Goodness Orabueze.

 

Staff reporter, Emengini Osadebe, reports that in his sermon at St Silas Anglican Church, Enekwasumpu, Omagba Onitsha, the officiating Priest and Vicar in charge of the Church, Reverend Canon Ebele Okonkwo, described marriage as a stepping stone to adulthood, and challenged the new bride to be wife and favour to her husband, whom he charged to always spend time with the wife God has made suitable for him, even as he admonished the couple to renew their love everyday with prayers and supplications, as well as shun third party in their marriage.

 

Later at a wedding reception organised at Sharon House, GRA Onitsha, the Chairman on the occasion, Mr Chukwuemeka Onyeanwuna, called for patience, love and understanding between the couple for God’s favour to manifest in their marriage.

 

In their separate remarks, the mother of the bride, Mrs Nwachukwu, and the mother of the Groom, Mrs Grace Orabueze, expressed joy and gratitude to God for allowing them witness the wedding of their children, and prayed God to grant them all the blessings of marriage, while urging them to resist third party interference.

 

The representative of groom’s father, Honourable Obi Chijioke and that of bride’s father, Chief John Okwuogu, prayed God to bless them with all the good things of marriage, even as other guests at the event, including Engineer Larry Unachukwu, Mrs Adaora Anusiobi, Mrs Ogonna Okoro, prayed God to grant them all their heart desires.

 

ABS family was not left out at the ceremony, as the Head of News, Onitsha station, Mrs Chinyelu Obiejesi, and her Engineering Counterpart, Mr Ignatius Ezekwesili, led members in felicitating with their own and the mother of the bride, Mrs Nwachukwu, praying God to bless the marriage.

 

The latest couple, Mr and Mrs Innocent Orabueze, whose joy knew no bounds, thanked God for the gift of life and love that bind them, promising to love and be faithful to each other.

 

Highpoints of the ceremony were exchange of marital vows and rings, cutting of wedding cake and dance by the new couple.
