Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District at the ninth senate, Senator Rochas Okorocha, says if wealthy Nigerians from one region of the country becomes benefactor to the indigent in another region, it will go a long way in solving the security problem of the nation.

Senator Okorocha who was speaking at a conversation with the Nigerian Union of Journalists Abuja FCT Council emphasized that terrorism will be nipped in the bud if women are empowered financially to take care of their family.

He said, though tribes and tongues may differ, Nigerians must stand in brotherhood and urged the federal government to bridge the gap in communication between government and the governed which often leads to misunderstanding.

Senator Okorocha charged the South-East region to present a good reason why the nation should have an Igbo man as the next President in 2023 and not wait for power to be handed down to them.

He however cautioned that it will be unfair for the All Progressives Congress, APC, to zone presidency to the North in 2023 as there is no justifiable reason to do so since all other regions had produced president except for the South.

Earlier, the Chairman NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche, had said there is a fire need for all hands to be on deck in making education accessible to the over eleven million out of school children in Nigeria and thanked Senator Okorocha for giving hope to children that ordinarily would have been hopeless.

For the secretary of the council, Comrade Ochiaka Ugwu, there is a great need for all to work for the good of Nigeria.
