Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue has paid a surprise visit to a school where the three children rescued from a suspected ritualist at 3-3 area, Onitsha, are being tutored.
Lady Ndidi , made the unannounced visit to the school in order to have first hand assessment of the progress being made by the children, two boys and a girl, who are under the care of her ministry since their rescue.
Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner, who said she was delighted to see the progress made by the children so far,noted that now that the ministry has succeeded in registering them in a school she would personally continue to monitor their progress.
It will be recalled that, the Anambra State Police Command on 19th February, 2021 at 3-3 area of Onitsha, rescued three children from a dane of ritualists, who are allged to have been in-humanely maltreated, leaving them with life threatening scars, before a kind hearted citizen alerted the police and they were rescued.
Similarly, Lady Mezue used the opportunity to visit RECDOT Ozubulu, where vulnerable and abandoned children are being cared for. She donated cash and essential items to the center for staff and inmates, a gesture she repeated at the children’s school.
