The members of Rotary International District 9142, comprising all the South East States, Akwa-Ibom and Cross River States have condoled with the family of Sir Amobi Adirika of Ojoto Community in Idemili South Local Government Area, over the death of their wife, mother and grandmother, the late Professor Bekky Adirika.
The late Professor Adirika was the wife of a former Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Amobi Adirika and a onetime President of the Inner Wheel Club, a feminine arm of the Rotary International.
Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata reports that while sympathizing with the family at their residence in Awka, the District Governor, Rotary International District 9142, Dr. Okey Okonkwo in company of other Rotarians expressed shock over the demise of Professor Adirika, stating that her departure was a huge loss to the family and Rotary International.
Dr. Okonkwo, said the family has been a true committed and devoted member of the club and urged them to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a life worthy of emulation.
In their separate condolence messages, the President of Rotary Club Awka GRA, Rotarian Godspower Olottah and the Assistant Governor of Rotary zone eleven, Rotarian Bonaventure Uzoh, described the late Professor Adirika as an embodiment of honesty, humility and a shining beacon to Rotary Club, praying God to console the family.
The President of Rotary Club of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Rotarian Abuchi Nwozor, a Past Assistant Governor of Rotary Club International, Rotarian Eloka Chukwudum and a friend to the family, Rotarian Eucharia Adukuru said though the late Professor Adirika has left, her spirit still lives on, describing her as a woman of high principles, role model and lover without discrimination and prayed God to grand her eternal rest.
Responding, Sir Amobi, a Past Assistant Governor of Rotary, thanked members of Rotary International for sympathizing with him and his family, lamenting that the family will miss her dearly and only God would give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
The visit climaxed with the signing of the condolence register by the group.
