Anambra State Polytechnic Mgbakwu, ANSPOLY has held its fourth and fifth matriculation ceremonies for the National Diploma students.
The event, which took place at the school’s auditorium, began with an academic procession and featured series of lectures with parents, members of the institution’s governing council and other critical stakeholders in attendance.
Addressing the matriculants, the Anambra State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Sally Mbanefo through the Ministry’s Director of Tertiary Education, Mrs. Oyibo Alor, advised the students to prioritize their academy pursuit which according to her would make them important instrument for growth and developmental drive.
In her welcome address, the Rector of the institution, Dr Nneka Mefoh, who noted that the school has recorded rapid progress within the short period of its existence, highlighted the institution’s challenges to include need for infrastructural development to enable them to commence HND programmes, completion of the ongoing projects, improved condition of service, recruitment of more staff among others.
She however commended Governor Willie Obiano for his commitment to the development of the institution, through provision of access road and other critical infrastructure and expressed hope that the governor would address other challenges confronting the school.
Dr Mefoh further advised the students to commit selves to discipline, rectitude and meritorious living and appealed to parents and other stakeholders to collaborate with the school for greater achievements.
Oath of allegiance by the matriculants, presentation and formal admission climaxed the event.
