The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, says the sixty first independence anniversary of the Nigerian nation calls for soul searching.
Bishop Ezeofor, who stated this in a message to mark the nation’s independence anniversary, regretted the dearth of infrastructure in the country, especially Southeast geopolitical zone, after sixty-one years of being an independent and sovereign nation.
Right Reverend Ezeofor, who is the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion, EFAC, Nigeria, blamed the problem of Nigeria on leadership, and charged those occupying leadership positions to use them in improving the living standards of the people.
The Bishop, who described Nigeria as a country that is richly blessed, called for an equitable distribution of the naion’s wealth among the six geopolitical zones of the country, and immediate rehabilitation of roads in the Southeast for enhanced living standards in the area.
He called for prayers for God’s intervention in the series of problems facing the country, especially insecurity, and advised citizens to see the development of the nation as a collective responsibility.
