They said the special prayers will take the form of a special October Devotion, asking the intervention and intercession of Blessed Mother Mary and Saint Joseph who are great intercessors on their behalf before God, especially during the Anambra election.

According to them, people of God are specially requested to include major intentions which are, gratitude to God that they are alive and have the opportunity to cast their votes and choose their Governor, for peace and security in Anambra state before, during and after the gubernatorial election, and for orderly and fair processing of the election results.

The Bishops expected wisdom from church leaders, as they lead dioceses and parishes made up of people who vote differently and finally, for a peaceful transfer and continuance of power after the election, even as the people of God in Anambra State are called to become agents of peace and progress in the society.
