The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor has called for concerted effort in the development of the education sector.
Bishop Ezeofor made the call during the dedication of a two storey ultra-modern edifice comprising a kitchen, dining hall and multipurpose hall built by the Aguata Diocesan women’s ministry as well as principals and staff quarters built by the Diocese at Saint Mary the Virgin Convent, Ufuma in Orumba North Local Government Area.
Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata reports that the projects provided by Aguata Diocese and the Diocesan Women’s Ministry are to enhance teaching and learning in the school, which was followed by an Eucharistic service at Holy Trinity Church Ufuma.
The dedication was part of activities to mark the Diocesan women’s day celebration.
While dedicating the edifices, Bishop Ezeofor commended the Diocesan Women’s Ministry led by Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor for the great work achieved and implored other groups in Diocese to emulate the women.
The Anglican Bishop called on the women to keep supporting the growth of education, even as he called for prayers for the smooth conduct of next month’s governorship election in Anambra State.
Bishop Ezeofor who maintained that the completed project is part of propagating God’s work blessed the women, consecrated the edifices and prayed God to replenish them as they continue their work of evangelism.
In her speech, the President of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, said the celebration of Anglicans Women’s day is necessary in the lives of women to mark their contribution in the church and the society.
Mrs Ezeofor appreciated the women for their support that enables the completion of a two storey building edifice and charged them to be live up to responsibility while using the position given them by God to propagate His gospel and win souls for Him.
In a sermon by the Vicar of Christ Church Achina and Archdeacon Amaiyi Archdeaconry, Venerable Ifeanyi Ogbueli, titled “Watch over Your Life, called on the faithful to be vigilant in all their life dealings and journey to resist satanic intrusion. Venerable Ogbueli urged Christians to wake up from sleep in order to conquer Satan and his antics in this end time even as he decried that many youths are leaving the church of God in search of mundane pleasures.
In appreciation, the Archdeacon Ufuma Archdeaconry, Venerable David Okpala Ononuju, the Chaplain, Women’s Ministry Aguata Diocese, Venerable Steve Nnadi and the principal Saint Mary The Virgin Convent, Mrs Constance Umeh thanked the Diocesan women’s ministry for the structure as they encouraged the women to pursue other projects for immense development of the diocese.
The wife of the Former Vice President of Nigeria, Mrs Ifeoma Ekwueme, who attended the event described the project as a welcome development.
The event featured the cutting of dedication cake, praises, prayers and thanksgiving.
