Ezinne Lady Regina Ngozi Nwabuike, JP, who died on September 6, 2021 at the age of sixty-one, was born in the Republic of Cameron in 1960, into the family of Nze Raymond and Mrs Susana Okeke (Nzeadachie and Akwudolueze) of Umuenu village Umuawulu.

Ngozi, the second child of the family, received the sacrament of confirmation in 1974. Her parents gave her sound education with the little they have. The young Regina attended Central School, Umuawulu and later the famous Holy Cross High school, before concluding at Girls Secondary School, Oba.

Regina Ngozi proceeded to the Lorreto Teachers Training College Adazi for her TC2, which was in vogue then for accepting one as a teacher. She later obtained her NCE at the then College of Education, now Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe.

Not satisfied, Regina Ngozi moved on to University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she bagged a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and later went to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka for her Post graduate diploma in Management and Masters in Business Administration MBA respectively. She got married in 1982 to Chief Sir Stephen Nwabuike, JP, now late.

Ezinne Lady Regina Ngozi, who was nicknamed Prestige by her admirers because of the way she comported herself, was a member of the Women’s Guild and Mother’s Union as well as an active member of Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Nkpor, where she lived and Saint Mark’s Anglican Church, Umuawulu, her home town.

Lady Regina Nwabuike was enrolled into the Lady and Knighthood order of Saint Christopher, KSC, in February 1999. She was a secretary of the Women Wing of Umuawulu Progressive Union (Onitsha branch); Financial Secretary, Women’s General Meeting, home and abroad, Ebenator (Umuawulu Otuogbuoye) and Saint Paul’s Women general meeting, Nkpor Agu.

Lady Regina also served as Zonal Leader of Zone one, Women of Divine love, Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Nkpor Agu; one time secretary, Saint Paul’s School Management Committee, a member of Anglican Children’s Ministry, Nkpor; Archdeaconry and Patroness, Young Wives Association of Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Nkpor.

Prestige was equally a Financial Secretary, Women’s General Meeting, home and abroad of Saint Mark’s Anglican Church, Umuawulu; Financial Secretary Agbana, women’s general meeting, home and abroad Umuawulu, Vice President, Awgba family women, home and abroad, among others.

Furthermore, Lady Ngoo, was a head of the department of agricultural science at the Prince Memorial High School, Onitsha. She retired as a principal at the Community Secondary School, Ukwulu in 2017.

On retirement, she opened her own school, Divine Reigning King and Queen’s Foundation School, Nkpor in her quest to catch the children young for Christ. Ezinne Lady Regina Ngozi Nwabuike JP was a great woman of God, a Divine Kingdom Mother, a soldier of Christ, a mother in Israel and a disciplinarian who believed in raising Godly children. She taught her children how to praise the name of the Lord and praying, both in season and out of season.

The late Lady Regina Ngozi Nwabuike, JP, Prestige, is survived by her children, Grandchildren, siblings and numerous other relations, including Dr Ify Mmadukasi, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transport Company of Anambra State, TRACAS.

Service of Songs holds today at her compound, Agbana Umuawulu, while burial service will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 27th at Saint Marks Anglican Church, Umuawulu by 10am. It will be followed by interment and condolences. There will be outing and thanksgiving service at Saint Marks Anglican Church, Umuawulu on Sunday, October 31, 2021.
