Ashland University Ohio, United States of America in collaboration with Institute of Educational management and International Peace Academy and Crisis Management, has conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Chief Uchenna Ezeani, Director research, planning, statistics and procurement Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Awka.
The conferment took place during a security sensitization and orientation seminar and award giving ceremony in Awka.
Correspondent Theophilus Ukoha reports that among the institutions represented at the joint programme included Ashland University Ohio USA, Institute of Educational management of Nigeria, International Peace Academy and Crisis Management.
The mandate is to confer honorary doctorate degrees on some distinguished individuals, induction of members into Fellowship of Institute of Educational Management of Nigeria, International Peace Academy and Crisis Management, Leadership Award of P-CAREX Transparent International an arm of private council for assessment and recognition of excellent performance among others.
Presenting the award, the Registrar Reverend Chukwukaodunaka Oragu, emphasized that the criteria for consideration of possible recipient includes, transparency, astute leadership, brilliance and accountability among other sterling qualities.
He charged Chief Ezeani and all those who were decorated to live a life worthy of emulation.
In his address, its Nigerian Regent Archbishop Chidi Ehirodo, represented by the National co-ordinator, Prince Kalu Idika Kalu Junior listed two key factors for the development of a new and important high education system, to include the realities of the global village and adult learners obligations to employment, family and social life.
He charged the recipients to join in shouldering the responsibility of instituting the permanent campus of the institutions in Nigeria, as the financial and whatever contributions will go a long way to make their dream come true.
In his reaction on behalf of others, Chief Ezeani, thanked the organization for the honour saying the reward for hard work is more work and pledged to do more in his service to humanity.
Highpoint of the event includes investiture, decorations and award of certificate.
