A fulfilled life manifest in service to God and humanity.
This was the testimony of all that came to pay their last respects to late Sir Christopher Okeke-Mbala, as he was buried at his country home Abor-ani Awgbu, Orumba North Local Government Area.
Staff reporter Njideka Okoye covered the ceremony and reports tha in a homily during the burial mass held in his honour at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Maryland Abor-ani Awgbu, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, reminded people of the need to live good life they will be remembered for when they are no more advising christians to ensure that they impact positively on lives while alive.
Most Reverend Ezeokafor who noted that the deceased was committed to the growth of the church and service to God and humanity, urged the congregation to be mindful of the judgement of God as there will be reward for every work .
Speaking on behalf of the Mbala family, the younger brother of the deceased, Chief Kenneth Mbala who said that his late brother was a father to him and a good man that did not compromise his faith in God ,thanked the bishop and all who came to commiserate with them.
The first son and first daughter of the deceased, Mr. Emenike Mbala and Mrs Ebelechukwu Omaife said their father was a committed Christian, a man of truth and peace who united his children with love, promising to keep his legacy alive.
One of the relations of the deceased and former Vice President General Awgbu Progressive Union, Honourable Dike Ozulumba described late Sir Christopher as an upright and peace loving man known for his benevolence to the members of the community and beyond, urging his children to follow his footsteps.
Groups, relations, friends and well wishers took turns in paying condolences while cultural dances and performance by the Catholic Men’s Organization of the area formed the highlights of the ceremony.
