ABS Endorses Vote Not Fight Campaign Ahead Of Anambra Governorship Election

Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) Awka, has endorsed the “Vote not Fight” Campaign initiated by a non- profit organization, Catch Them Young Community Initiative.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Dr. Uche Nworah, endorsed the campaign when the organization paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Awka.

Correspondent, Emmanuel Chigbata reports that Catch Them Young Community Initiative is a youth led nonpartisan organization that promotes  good governance, democracy as well as engage policy implementation while the project “Vote not Fight” aimed at educating people on the need to shun violence during election.

According to the Executive Director of the Organization, Mr. Nonso Orakwe, the project started in 2014 by a Nigerian Artist, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face Idibia or 2Baba, to encourage youths to work against electoral violence, urging young Ndi Anambra to be part of the project.

Mr. Orakwe maintained that through the activities of the organization including mounting of billboards,  stronger messages are disseminated for the youths to embrace violence free election come November Sixth Anambra Governorship Election.

Disclosing that adequate structures have been put in place from the state to ward levels to ensure the message of transparent election gets to the grassroot, Mr. Orakwe, lauded ABS led by Dr. Nworah for supporting the organization, while urging him to use his medium to further address Ndi Anambra and Nigeria at large towards shunning electoral violence.

Responding the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Dr.  Nworah assured the organization of continuous partnership.

He urged youths to desist from violence and participate actively by exercising their franchise.

In their various remarks, a Member Strategy Committee of the Organization, Mr. Edwin Ikeudeh and a Strategy Team Member of the organization Queen Chikwendu  commended ABS for its support and lending their voices for the promotion of good governance and democracy.
