The members of  Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Youth Wing says they have set up Anambra Election Security Monitoring Team and Situation Room to monitor the November sixth Anambra governorship election and ensure that the election is free and fair.

The Acting National President of the Association, Maazi Jones Onwuasoanya who disclosed this in Awka, noted that the Monitoring Team is led by the Secretary-General of the Organization, Maazi Chukwuma Okpalezeukwu, and they shall coordinate fifty youths per ward and Anambra Youth Volunteer Corps, which has been working assiduously towards a peaceful and credible governorship election in the State.

He said that the Anambra State Chapter of the organization led by Comrade Eweh Onyekachi has equally concluded a Statewide sensitization tour aimed at mobilizing the youths of Anambra state to support and participate in a free and fair governorship election.

Maazi Onwuasoanya maintained that the sit-at-home order in the South East region has been very harmful to their economy and that they are in active consultation with their brothers to explore other ways of registering their protest without hurting their businesses and educational interests.

The association regretted that across all prisons in Nigeria, there are many Igbo youths who are unlawfully incarcerated without trial and recall the predicament of about twenty Igbo men and women who have been on awaiting trial for the past fifteen years over spurious charges of treasonable felony.
