Saint Mark’s zone of Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area has marked its annual Harvest and Bazaar ceremonies to thank God for His blessings and seek more favour from Him.

Correspondent Joseph Egbeocha reports that the ceremony, which took place at Awovu outstation of the parish commenced with a Holy Mass, also featured prayer for the smooth conduct of this Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State  and had in attendance, illustrious individuals of the community, including the member representing, Anaocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Chief Dozie Nwankwo,

In a homily during the Mass, the Parish priest of Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church Enugwu-Ukwu, Very Reverend Father Evarist Ezekwonna, harped on the need for love among Christians, which he said manifests in what is offered to God, whom he said rewards cheerful givers in no small measures.

In his remark at the ceremony, the member representing, Anaocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Chief Dozie Nwankwo, encouraged his constituents and the entire Anambra electorate to participate in this Saturday’s governorship election to ensure continuation of good governance in the State.

Chief  Nwankwo, who explained that sit at home order by any group will not affect the conduct of Anambra governorship election as people usually sit at home to participate in the exercise previously, described the successful commissioning of the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport at Umueri as a major  milestone of the Obiano administration, adding that with clear strategies on how to sustain development in Anambra State Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, remains the best candidate for the election.

Some parishioners, including, Chief Emma Okafor, Mr. Uche Odinigwe, Chief Robert Nebolisa and Mrs Christiana Okoye-Etelle, said peace, progress, open doors and unlimited favour are expected from God after the ceremony, urging the electorate to be peaceful in canvassing support for their choice candidates on the election day.
