The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has asked the Anambra electorate to troop out today and actively participate in choosing the next governor for the state.

The spokesman of the group, Emma Powerful, who disclosed this in a statement he issued on Thursday said IPOB has cancelled its one week sit-at-home order across the southeast.

The group said the order was called off following consultations with elders, traditional and religious leaders from the southeast.

According to Powerful, the genuine intervention of elders, traditional rulers and religious leaders, resulted in the cancellation, adding that people are now allowed to go about their normal activities peacefully, against the sit-at-home order, earlier declared between fifth, and tenth November 2021.

The group further said it is never its intention to add to the pains of people, hence the decision to suspend the sit-at-home.

According to him, its leadership cannot by under any guise be seen to be interfering with any electoral process.

It encourages Anambra people to vote and also protect their votes, warning that no rigging of any kind will be tolerated on the Anambra State governorship election, as it should be transparent, free and fair.
