The Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr. Uche Nworah says the non functionality of INEC BVAS machines is a disservice to the people.
The ABS boss who said he had been at Enugwu Ukwu Umuagu ward 1 unit 004 since 7am and only one out of the 709 registered voters had voted as at 11.15am
He asked INEC to find other means of ensuring that voters are not denied their rights of choosing who governs them in the next four years.
Some other voters including aged men and women prayed that their stay at the Polling Unit should not be allowed to waste for they want to vote in their governor
Registered voters including the aged in Ubarunisioye polling unit 001,Nando, polling unit 010,Health Centre, Igbariam, and Polling units 011 and 012,Amansea Primary School 1 Igbariam all in Anambra East Council Area as at 1:18pm,could not cast their votes as a result of malfunctioning BVAS.
Most of the villagers who came to exercise their franchise were seen sitting down waiting patiently for the system to work.
Some of them who spoke to the ABS, including Mrs Chiezey Theresa, Josephine Nwokoye and Evangelist Amaka Ibeneme expressed disappointment with the system calling on INEC to address the issue so they won’t be disenfranchised.
