The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor has said that the late Nigeria’s first President, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe represented the sole, image and future of the country in words and actions.

 

Eulogizing the former President, Dr. Azikiwe on his posthumous birthday, Right Honourable Okafor described him as the architect of modern Nigeria who used his potentials and wealth of experience to include Nigeria in the world map through dogged efforts with other notable Nigerians.

 

The Speaker who commended Governor Willie Obiano for declaring the late Dr. Azikiwe’s birthday, November 16 as a public holiday in the state, called on the federal government to emulate the good deeds of Governor Obiano by also pronouncing November 16 as a national public holiday to honour the great Zik of Africa.

 

He called on politicians in the country especially those from the Southeast zone to learn from the late Dr. Azikiwe’s life of service and sacrifice by upholding those things that will continually keep Nigeria as one entity where love, peace, unity and progress will reign supreme.

 

Right Honourable Okafor urged Ndi Anambra to hold tenaciously good legacies the great Zik bequeathed to them and continue to distinguish themselves in all noble activities and ventures for which the late Dr. Azikiwe was known.
