The Anambra state Deputy Governor-elect, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has asked the social media team of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to continue to give all necessary support to the present administration and extend same to the incoming regime to help it perform creditably.
Dr Ibezim who was speaking at an event organized to appreciate the efforts of the APGA social media forum in the November sixth governorship election in Anambra State, described the group as a critical machinery to the success of both the present and the incoming government.
Correspondent Daniel Ezeigwe reports that while asking them to continue to give the same support to the incoming government as they did to the present administration and to APGA before the election, the Deputy Governor-elect said that even though the election has been won, work still lies ahead, and that the social media team is needed to give objective publicity to the works of the new government.
Earlier, the convener of the event, who is also the Deputy Media Director of APGA Campaign Organization, Mr Emeka Ozumba commended the social media team for using the platform to inform not just the Anambra electorate but also those outside the state who needed accurate information about the APGA manifesto prior to the poll.
For the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Willie Obiano, Mr James Eze, social media groups who worked to ensure that free, fair and credible election was held in Anambra State must hold their heads high, knowing that they played immense role in exemplary democracy and fair victory.
On his part, the Head of the APGA social media forum and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on New Media, Mr Nnanna Nzewi, said that APGA already had the upper hand prior to the election with the achievements of the party and Professor Soludo’s antecedents standing higher than that of other political parties and their candidates, noting that many of those who worked for the group did it out of passion for the best cause and not for any compensation.
