The member representing Awka South Two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Chukwuma Okoye, has called on well-to-do individuals to invest heavily in education to achieve sustainable development of the state.

Honourable Okoye made the call while inspecting a five-classroom block with library being constructed in his constituency by his constituent, Pharmacist Emeka Nwachukwu at Community Primary School, Amawbia.

House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that Honourable Okoye described the benefactor, Mr. Nwachukwu as a true son of Anambra State who has keyed into the Think Home Philosophy of Governor Willie Obiano.

The lawmaker who commended Mr. Nwachukwu for his gesture, said the project is a boost to education in the state and called on privileged citizens of the state to emulate his humanitarian service.

On his part, the benefactor, Mr. Nwachukwu, an old pupil of the school, said the gesture was informed by the dilapidated State of the block.

He further said it was his own contribution towards the improvement on educational infrastructure in the area, to promote effective teaching and learning, adding that he will provide all the learning materials required in the school for five years.

In her speech, the Headmistress of the school, Lady Gloria Anaedu announced that the project was the first of its kind in the history of the school and thanked the benefactor for meeting one of their most pressing needs.

In their separate speeches, the member representing Awka North Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable John Nwokoye and his Orumba South Constituency counterpart, Honourable Emma Nwafor, commended Mr. Nwachukwu for his magnanimity.
