The traditional ruler of Umuawulu in Awka South Local Government Area Igwe Joel Egwuonwu has commended the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority for issuing authority to the Anambra State government to open the Anambra International cargo and passenger airport for commercial flight operations.

In a press statement at Umuawulu Igwe Egwuonwu noted with joy that the development will ease the movement of Anambra travelers who patronize other airports in the country.

He extoled Governor Willie Obiano for his resilience in actualizing the feat and used the forum to congratulate the Governor-elect Professor Chukwuma Soludo for securing victory at the federal High Court Abuja.

Igwe Egwuonwu frowned at the wasting of the resources in frivolous litigations against Professor Soludo’s victory in the November sixth governorship election and called on the litigants to accept the outcome of the election and join hands with Professor Soludo to move Anambra State to greater heights.

He urged the governor- elect to run an all inclusive government.

Meanwhile, a one-time President-General of Nise Town Union in Awka South Local Government Area Chief Chris Onor has described the approval by the        Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority for the commencement of commercial flight operations at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport at Umueri as a welcome development.

Speaking to the ABS at Nise Chief Onor said that the commercial flight operations at the airport will no doubt boost the revenue profile of the State and create more jobs.

He commended Governor Willie Obiano for achieving the feat, adding that the Governor-elect Professor Chukwuma Soludo will continue from where Governor Obiano will stop when he takes over the mantle of leadership in March seventeenth 2022.

Chief Onor called on Ndi Anambra to continue praying for Governor Obiano to enable him finish strong and for the seamless transition and inauguration of Professor Soludo led government next year.
