Eighty-five students have graduated from the British Spring College Awka Class of 2021.
The theme for Class of 2021 graduation ceremony and Valedictory Service of the school was “The Emerging Achievers”.
Staff reporter Njideka Okoye was there and reports that in his message the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim represented by the Archdeacon Awka Central Archdeaconry, Venerable Ekene Nwafor who spoke on “Harvesting the Glory of God in Your Life” said that God has deposited potential in man which one will use to manifest.
Archbishop Ibezim charged them to have a goal as they are moving into the world, be diligent, focused and make constant effort to accomplish the goal.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service Dr. Uche Nworah who was a guest speaker at the event commended the school management, parents and the graduands for their efforts, reminding the graduands that the journey has just started as they are in a competitive world of the fourth industrial revolution being propelled by Information Communication Technology, and urged them to make advantage of the opportunity they have to succeed.
Dr. Nworah during the event shared his book ” Media Practice and Security Challenges in South-East Nigeria” to students intending to study Mass Communication in higher institution.news
The principal of the school, Mr. Joseph Ezioko thanked all that attended the event noting that the school has made remarkable success in academics, sports and otherwise, advising the students to be good ambassadors of the school in their future endeavours.
The Chairman on the occasion, Venerable Professor Anayo Nkamnebe said that vision of the school is to raise a generation of students with right tools, skills, knowledge, moral and mental abilities to excel in life noting that with the performance of the students, they are on the track.
One of the parents, Mr Patrick Ukachukwu a pharmacist who is the President Onitsha Chamber of Commerce said that the school is known for academic excellence and moral upbringing of the students, noting that handing over of some Schools to the mission is beneficial while the best graduating student, Master Chisom Udeze appreciated God, his parents and the school for making him achieve such fit, urging the students to embrace hard work, humility and fear of God to realize their dreams.
Cutting of the graduation cake presentation of prizes and other displays formed high points of the celebration.
