Anambra State House of Assembly has passed the Anambra State 2022 Appropriation Bill of one hundred and forty-one point nine seven billion naira.
The 2022 appropriation bill which was passed during plenary is the services of Anambra State Government for the year, 2022.
Presenting the report of his committee on the appropriation bill at plenary, the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Budget, Chief Obinna Emeneka explained that his committee scrutinized the budget estimate thoroughly and made adjustments where necessary to achieve a realistic budget.
The committee observed that funds should be released to Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDA’s for optimum budget performance.
On his part, the majority leader, Dr. Nnamdi Okafor, who moved a motion for the 2022 budget estimate to be passed, commended the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation for doing a thorough job.
Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Uche Okafor expressed confidence that Anambra State government will achieve a realistic budget next year and read out the budget estimate to the House, while the lawmakers supported it through a voice vote.
In his remarks, the Speaker appreciated the House for supporting the vision of Governor Willie Obiano for the state with enactment of quality laws that FastTrack rapid development of the state, even as he expressed joy that commercial flight operations has commenced at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri.
