In the spirit of Christmas and for the love of humanity,a non governmental organization, Queen of NdidaLand Charity Foundation has put smiles on the faces of the less privileged.
The event which took place at Saint Mathew’s Catholic Church,Amawbia, Awka South Council Area attracted people living with disabilities and vulnerable widows.
In an opening remarks, the Chaplain Doctor, Grace Igweike,told the beneficiaries of the various interventions  the foundation has effected over the years touching the lives of the under privileged people positively.
She revealed that the founder of the foundation,Chief May Egbunike-Agbakoba, established the foundation in ’80s following the footsteps of her father,who was a great philanthropist.
Mrs Igweike while saying that the Charity organization has  global outreach with branches all over the world, asked for continuous prayers for the founder to keep her philanthropic services alive.
In an interview with the ABS, the event manager,Sir Arthur Udoh, speaking on behalf of the founder, said the secret behind Chief Egbunike-Agbakoba charity work was born out of genuine love for humanity and not political motives.
He called on privileged Ndi Anambra to seize the opportunity of the Christmas season to show love to the downtrodden.
In his remarks, the Board of Trustees chairman, Association of People Living with Disabilities,Mr Ikechukwu Ezeokafor,noted that what the foundation is doing is complementing the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano on the lives of people living with disabilities,whom he has given a sense of belonging since the inception of his administration.
In a presentation,a medical practitioner,Dr Paul Onyejekwe, spoke on the dangers of hepatitis B, the symptoms, and advised people to always go to hospitals to ascertain their hepatitis B status describing the disease as  deadlier than HIV.
For some of the beneficiaries, including Mr Dickson Friday, from Nnewi,Miss Francisca Okafor from Uke and Mr Chibuike Okoye from Ekwulobia,who were given new crutches by the foundation,they were dumbfounded by the philanthropic gestures of the foundation praying God to prolong and continue to prosper the founder.
Distribution of new crutches,books,pens, empowerment funds to widows, free hepatitis B tests , injections and more featured during the event.
