The Chairman Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Tender Board and Procurement, Mr Chuka Ezenwune has called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies coming for the verification of the contracts they awarded in 2020 to appear with all the enlisted documents to achieve the desired result.

House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that Mr Ezenwune made the call while verifying contracts awarded by the officials of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission within the year under review alongside other members of the committee at the Assembly Complex in Awka.

The committee commended the commission for substantially complying with the Procurement Act 2011 as amended in doing government businesses.

The Committee maintained that application of Procurement Act in award of contracts by government Ministries helps to entrench due process, transparency, reduce leakages, and corruption, thereby getting the best bid for government in any procurement activities.

In her remarks, the Chairman of Post Primary Schools Service Commission, Mrs Ifeoma Okaro commended the House of Assembly for ensuring that Ministries Departments and Agencies employ Procurement Act in all their procurement activities.

The key officials of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, led by the Commissioner, Mrs Ndidi Mezue also participated in the exercise.
