The Parish Priest of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, Nodu -Okpuno, Reverend Father Emmanuel Ofomata has encouraged Christians to prepare their hearts to welcome Jesus Christ.
Reverend Father Ofomata, who stated this in a homily while celebrating holy mass noted that God sent Christ to lift man from any ugly circumstance of life, urging Christians to mend their ways and be ready to live in the peace, grace and love Christ will shower upon them.
He reminded Christians that Christmas season calls for sober reflection, reunion with Christ and most importantly, living holy and righteous life, and cautioned those indulging in so many ungodly activities in the name of Christmas to have a rethink and change of attitude.
At Saint Mathew’s Anglican Church Nibo, the Archdeacon, Adazi-Ani Archdeaconry and Vicar of Saints Jude’s Church, Adazi-Ani, Venerable Chris Nkem-Okafor said the compassionate heart and mercy of God are new each day.
Venerable Nkem-Okafor said God is ever ready to answer petitions from Christians if they believe and acknowledge Christ as their saviour.
Dwelling on the topic of the day, ‘’I will make all things new’’, Venerable Nkem-Okafor noted that Jesus Christ has come to live with men, charging Christians to seek Him.
On his part, the Vicar of the Church and Archdeacon of Nibo Archdeaconry, Venerable Goodness Amechi called on Christians to mend their ways, reflect on the life they live, and be determined to follow Christ; who has reconciled them with God
Meanwhile, the Full Gospel Men’s Fellowship International, Anambra Broadcasting Service Field Representative, Mr. Zion Ibeamaka has charged Christians to identify with the mystery of God’s kingdom in order to be saved.
Speaking at the fellowship’s end of the year prayer summit held at the ABS headquarters Awka, Mr. Ibeamaka noted that when one acquaints him or herself with the word of God there will be smooth journey of life.
Mr. Ibeamaka cautioned against fear, which he said has made many Christians deviate from the call of God, adding that when persistence, faith, hope and endurance are applied, the spirit of God will lead and direct one on the right path.
The Vice President of ABS Chapter of the fellowship, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze called for fervent prayer, love and peace, and advised members to avoid fear, but be determined to follow Christ footsteps at all times.
