The popular saying that a random act of kindness, no matter how little can make a tremendous impact on someone’s life came to the fore at the compound of Chief Ernest Obodoefuna, in Obosi Idemili North Local Government Area when the wife, Ngozi organized a Christmas party for thousands of children under her foundation “Hope for All”.
The children dressed in their various attires to reflect the season, did various presentations, including hip pop dances, calisthenics, traditional dances, Hope for All Foundation dance, All Saints Brigade, Little Wood performance, drama presentation among others.
Mobile bus library for the children was also unveiled during the Christmas party.
Speaking to the ABS, the host and Founder of Hope for All Foundation, Mrs Ngozi Obodoefuna told the ABS that she is a retired Clinical Nurse Specialist, who spent many years in Britain.
Mrs Oboefuna explained that when she came back to Nigeria, she observed that many children do not receive Christmas presents like their counterparts in Britain, hence her decision to bridge the gap because she loves children.
Mrs Obodoefuna disclosed that during Summer, she travels abroad to get support for her foundation as the number of children increased every year stressing that she wants to use her time to see that the children learn and have fun as well.
She further explained that the Mobile bus Library will be stocked with over two thousand books for people between the ages of three and twelve.
Chief Ernest Obodoefuna, the husband of the Founder who took time to dance with the children said he is delighted in seeing the annual event in his compound while Chief Emma Eriobu, a family friend commended the gesture.
Some children who spoke to the ABS thanked the Founder and prayed God to give her longer life.
Staff reporter, Ogochukwu Oranu reports that gifts of various sizes, shapes and colours, ranging from teddies, toys, bags, hats, educational toys and materials, musical instruments and others were distributed to the children amidst Christmas songs while cash prizes were also given to children who performed well in Scrabble and other games.
