No doubt, administrations come and go but the feats achieved by any administration are not easily forgotten as such achievements become letters written on the slate of time which cannot be erased or obliterated. This has prompted the Anambra Achievers Legacy Award, also called Anambra Achievers Legacy Family (Akululu Uno Amaka 2021) to endear itself to the feats achieved by the Obiano-led administration.

Anambra Achievers Legacy Award is a quadrennial event and private sector initiative that seeks to immortalize the indelible achievements of distinguished sons and daughters of Anambra State – the “1st Eleven” in their various fields of endeavor. They are individual who have greatly impacted on the lives of the people through their programmes and projects and those who have distinguished in their chosen careers and sacrificed their resources for the general development of Anambra State in particular and humanity in general.

Anambra Achievers Legacy Family was conceptualized to honour Ndi Anambra of proven integrity, hard work, dedication, industry – high spirited individuals and corporate organizations who have set up industries and business empires in the state.

Anambra Achievers’ Legacy Family is organized as part of the activities to commemorate Anambra State at 30, with the celebration of thirty indigenous achievers who have invested heavily in the state by building roads, awarding scholarships, rural electrification, building of factories and industries which provided job opportunities and increased the economic profile of the state.

Anambra clocks thirty this year. This calls for celebration and introspection. It is an opportunity to showcase our rich cultural heritage, economic prospects, industrial capacity, abundant natural and human resources and giant strides that make us stand out. It is a time to tell the world our success story.  Obiano’s administration has recorded great achievements in virtually all the sectors of the state’s economy. Mention must be made in particular of the feats his administration recorded in the educational sector.

Obiano’s administration has accentuated the extant philosophy “Ndigbo Nalue Uno and Build a Home”, which Governor Obiano has been a core advocate of, for which he has given Ndi Anambra a befitting International Passengers and Cargo Airport to bring home their wealth. For this purpose, Anambra Achievers Legacy Family is dully committed to ensuring that men and women who rendered services to the state and indeed the entire nation diligently are adequately rewarded.

This year’s event is celebrating Governor Obiano. Thirty other Ndi Anambra were also selected for the Family under the chairmanship of Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Secretary of Commonwealth.

The event is to hold on December 30, 2021 at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka by 10am. It will attract Justice Anthony I. Iguh, CON, former Justice of the Supreme Court and Chief Judge of Old and New Anambra State as National Grand Patron. Other Patrons are Hon. Justice G. U. Ononiba (OON), former Chief Judge of Anambra State, Prof. Ben Nwabueze, former Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, Chief Simon Okeke (Ochendo), former Chairman, Police Service Commission.

The Royal Father of the day is Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Obi of Onitsha, while Most Reverend Dr. Valerian Okeke, Catholic Bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, and Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim, Archbishop of Nigeria Province, will be Spiritual Fathers of the Day.

The Governors of South East Zone and those of Rivers and Delta States, as well as Anambra Governor-Elect are Special Guests of Honour while Members of National Assembly, Speaker and members of Anambra State House of Assembly and their Predecessors in office would be the Guests of Honour.
