Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe has organized an end of year interdenominational prayer and service of Carol and nine lessons at the College premises.
The service was conducted by the Chaplain of Saint Catherine’s Catholic Chaplaincy of the college, Reverend Father Ben Udeh.
Staff reporter Njideka Okoye reports that Management, staff, students and the College community in their Christmas attire gathered at the College main hall to pray and appreciate God.
In a sermon, the Chaplain Anglican Chapel of His Glory Nwafor Orizu Collage of Education Nsugbe, Venerable Charles Chukwurah who said that Christmas is a time of joy and celebration of God’s love and mercy to mankind, noted that it is also a time of evaluation and assessment.
Venerable Chukwurah thanked God for preserving the college to attain forty years and urged the students to maximize their strength and energy to move the college to a greater height and as well charged them to be mindful of their relationship with God and fellow being.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Ifeyinwa Osegbo thanked God for the activities of the college saying that Christmas calls for joy and appreciation to God, urging the students to allow Christ to reign in their lives as they celebrate Christmas.
Dr Osegbo who called for Change of attitude, thanked the college management and listed some of the achievements of the college including promotion of over one hundred staff of the college and building of structures.
A lecturer in the department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling of the college, Mrs Martina Nwawube said there is need to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ and urged the people to avoid acts capable of making Christmas lose its concept and meaning.
Christmas songs, thanksgiving and prayers for Nigeria, Anambra State, the college and families featured during the event.
