Ndi Anambra and other stakeholders have been urged to support the present drive to reposition the state to meet demands of the Twenty-first century.

 

Speaking to newsmen in Awka, the Managing Director of Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, Chief Jude Emecheta said this would expand socio-economic opportunities in the state and accelerate industrial development.

 

Paul Ezeoke reports that according to Chief Emechata, Governor Obiano’s legacy projects and development initiatives were designed to uplift the lives of the people and benefit future generation, noting that the Governor is looking beyond meeting the needs of today by providing infrastructure and facilities that would serve the future needs and demands of the people which incoming administration of Professor Chukwuma Soludo would consolidate and build on.

 

Chief Emecheta noted that his emergence has set a standard for other states in future elections to choose only visionary candidates who are well equipped to serve the people.

 

He noted that Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport at Umueri hold bright prospects for the state and would give huge economic boost not only to the state but also the entire South East region including unlocking the tourism sector, pointing out that the facility enhanced movement of some people coming back for the Yuletide.

 

The ANSAA boss urged people of the state to embraced the on-going House Numbering Scheme of the state and placing of street signs for easy identification of locations as a necessity to upgrade to a smart state.

 

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Mr Oscar Christopher assured that the state government has put in place all necessary measures to secure life and property throughout yuletide and beyond, noting that the synergy among security agencies is yielding the desired results.

 

Mr Christopher urged members of the various communities and residents of the state to provide useful and prompt information to security agents to enhance crime fighting and prevention across the state.
