The premises of Saint Michael and All Angel’s field Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area was filled to capacity recently as Nawfia indigenes and residents gathered for the 2021 edition of Nawfia Praise Night, which heralded the new year celebration in the community.

Correspondent, Joseph Egbeocha reports that the event with the theme: “Praise, my weapon of war”, featured performances by renowned gospel artistes, including Rosemary Chukwu-Onumegbu, Chika Okpala, Brother Israel Anyanele, and Divine Grace Nkwa Group Nawfia.

In his opening prayer and remark, Nawfia indigenous Catholic priest, Reverend Father Fabian Anumba called for true repentance among his people, whom he equally urged to embrace God as the ultimate power in the universe, even as the Vicar of Saint Michael and All Angel’s Anglican Church Nawfia, Venerable Ifeanyi Umeh called on Christians to go to God in praises for testimonies, and recommended that the Nawfia Praise Night be a more regular event in the community.

A Guest preacher at the event, Reverend Ogbonna Michael from Umuahia, who spoke through Reverend Newman Oriaku of Assemblies of God, Umuahia district said that victory is assured when God is moved by praises to fight for His people, and declared the programme a life-changing one for Nawfia people.

Sharing testimonies from previous editions of the praise night, the Presbyter, Assemblies of God, Awka District, and Resident Pastor, Assemblies of God Nteje, Reverend Noah Odumuko called for its sustenance, promising to attend future editions.

The Chairman of Nawfia Praise Night Committee, Mr. Emenike Okeke, represented by Evangelist Chijioke Chukwukezie said the praise night has been successful since inception in 2015, and declared that it shall continue to attract manifold blessings of God on Nawfia land.

Special prayer for the sponsor of the event, Chief and Mrs Donatus Obele, members of Nawfia Praise Night Committee, Anambra State and Nigeria featured at the event.
