In gratitude towards the critical role played by Governor Willie Obiano in the emergence of the Governor-Elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s victory, members of the Old Aguata Union comprising Aguata, Orumba North and Orumba South local government areas comprising forty five communities in the state paid an appreciation visit to Governor Willie Obiano.

The visit took place at the Governor’s Country home, Aguleri.


Making a presentation, Professor Soludo thanked the Governor, and used the occasion to dismiss insinuations and fallacious comments that Governor Obiano made demands of him before supporting him as untrue.


Professor Soludo who explained that it was a rare attribute that is worth commending reiterated that the governor’s support was based on his personal conviction, pledging that he and the Deputy Governor-Elect, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim will work hard every minute of the day, to justify the confidence reposed in them by ndi Anambra.


Recieving the delegation, Governor Obiano applauded the move, saying that his support for Soludo was based on his strong personal conviction that he was the right man for the job.

The event was attended by the wife of the Governor, Dr. Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, Deputy Governor-Elect, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Dr. Ifeoma Ekwueme, Wife of Nigeria’s Former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Vice President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, Traditional Rulers including the Traditional Ruler of Isuofia, Igwe Christopher Muoghalu, his Aguleri counterpart, Igwe Mike Idigo, Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, Anglican Bishop of Afikpo Diocese, Right Reverend Udogu.


During the event, some presentations were made to Governor Obiano, especially a giant traditional sword to show gratitude.
