Uruegbe Youth Development Association Umuoji, UYDA, has held its 2022 Youth Day, seeking stronger partnership for the advancement of youths of the community.
The event, which took place at Uruegbe Village Square, Umuoji, Idemili North Local Government Area, was graced by sons and daughters of Uruegbe, parents, friends and well-wishers.
They used the occasion to enlighten their youths on the need to shun hard drugs and other forms of substance abuse.
Speaking at the event , the Chairman of UYDA, Comrade Mmaduabuchi Onwumelu said the event, which is an annual one, seeks to bring youths together, discuss issues facing them and also celebrate some illustrious sons of the town, who have distinguished selves in developing the area and society in general.
Contributing, the chairman of Uruegbe Brothers Union, UBU, Mr. Christian Oranu described the event as a remarkable one, stating that it has always helped in reshaping and molding the youths towards achieving their full potential.
The former chairman of the association, Mr. Obinna Oranu, who received an Excellence Award, thanked them for the honour and prayed for God’s blessings and longevity upon the leadership of the town as they continue to direct and empower the youths towards being responsible citizens.
Talent hunt, cultural and art exhibition, masquerades display and presentation of awards, climaxed the event.
